“perceive トオクチカク”
About the work：
The beginning of “perceive” was to entrust my perception of the space to others in the COVID-19 pandemic, where physical connection with people was severed. Now that remote
work has been forced upon us and one device per person has become the new norm, I am eager to create works through that device.
Based on five memories and pictures of the former Isama Elementary School collected through the circulation board of the town, I created digital works in response to them. In addition, I made an AR application “perceive／トオクチカク” from scratch to read the sent pictures as marker images. “perceive” is centered around the memories of the school and uses AR to bring back the memories of the viewer and evoke feelings of nostalgia. Alongside this, I hope you witness the process of breathing life back into the old classroom with the viewers who gather in the emptiness.
作品について：
人との物理的繋がりが絶たれたコロナ禍において、他者に知覚を委ねるということが「トオクチカク/perceive」制作の出発点でした。リモート学習を余儀なくされ、一人に一台のコンピュータ端末が常識となった今、その端末を利用する作品表現にこだわりました。
町の回覧板を通して集められた旧伊参小学校にまつわる５つの思い出話と絵を軸に、それらに応えたデジタル作品を制作し、寄せられた絵をマーカー画像として読み込むためのARアプリ「perceive/トオクチカク」をゼロから作ってみました。鑑賞者はバーチャル作品とカメラを通して見た現実世界とを組み合わせた*拡張現実感を体験できます。観る人の記憶を手繰り寄せ、かつての想いを呼び起こすような感覚、また、その場に集う鑑賞者によって教室に息が吹き込まれていく過程を感じてほしいと思います。
*拡張現実（かくちょうげんじつ、英: Augmented Reality、オーグメンテッド・リアリティ、AR）とは、人が知覚する現実環境をコンピュータにより拡張する技術、およびコンピュータにより拡張された現実環境そのものを指しています。

App PRIVACY POLICY
The artist, Takafumi Ide, solely designed and developed the app “perceive トオクチカク” as a tool for experiencing his augmented reality (AR) interactive artwork for Nakanojo Biennale 2021, which will be held from September 11 to October 11, 2021. This service is provided by him at no cost and is intended for use as is. This page is used to inform you as the user/audience regarding the policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information if anyone decided to use “perceive トオクチカク”.
Information Collection and Use: The app “perceive トオクチカク” accesses your location data to activate the app northward at your current location. This data is not saved nor used for any other purpose. The app also needs to access the camera and sensors on your device in order to fully activate your experience of AR interactive artwork.
Log Data: The artist doesn’t collect personal information from you. There is no login needed to use the app and there’s no way to provide any personal information to him through the app. However, the artist wants to inform you that whenever you use the app “perceive トオクチカク”, in a case of an error in the app he collects data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing the app, the time and date of your use of the service, and other statistics.
